No. 13 WashU Upsets No. 9 MIT at ITA Indoors

Nashville, Tenn., March 2, 2019 – Sophomore Ally Persky picked up a pair of wins, including a victory over a ranked opponent in singles, to lead the No. 13-ranked Washington University in St. Louis women's tennis team to a 5-4 upset win over No. 9 Massachusetts Institute of Technology Saturday at the 2019 ITA National Team Indoor Championship in Nashville, Tenn. 

WashU jumped out to a 2-1 lead after doubles behind wins at No. 1 and No. 3. With the Bears holding a slim 4-3 lead, sophomore Ashley Lessen clinched the victory with a 6-2, 7-6 (7-2) victory at No. 2 singles.
