No. 9 WashU Outlasts No. 7 Amherst in Florida

Haines City, Fla., March 14, 2019 – The No. 9-ranked Washington University in St. Louis men's tennis team closed out its Spring Break Trip with a 5-4 win over No. 7 Amherst College Thursday in Haines City, Fla.

WashU improved to 9-4 with the win, while Amherst suffered its first loss of the season and dropped to 5-1.

Sophomore Ethan Hillis picked up a pair of victories on the day, including a straight-set win over No. 18 ranked Sean Wei at No. 1 singles. Hillis improved his overall record to 25-6, including 17-3 in singles. 

Sophomore Daniel Li also had a pair of wins at No. 3 singles and No. 2 doubles.
