Naperville, Ill., May 16, 2018 – The Washington University in St. Louis track & field team competed at the Gregory Final Qualifier Meet at North Central College Wednesday evening in Naperville, Ill.
A total of five Bears competed in Wednesday's events including both the women and men in pole vault, while sophomore Collis McKenzie competed for WashU in the high jump. No team scores were kept during the meet.
Junior Heidi Nassos led the WashU women with a second place finish in the pole vault. She defeated the seventh ranked Division III pole vaulter from Ohio Northern as the duo tied with the same height of 3.83m but Nassos won on fewer jumps.
Freshman Julia Dannenbaum nearly matched her season-best height with 3.68m pole vault distance to place fourth. Junior Dominique Meyer placed sixth with a height of 3.43m.
Sophomore Brandon Hutchison placed fifth by matching his season-best 4.61m pole vault height. Senior Jacob Rother also competed for the Bears in the pole vault.
McKenzie placed 16th in the high jump. He reached a height of 1.91m.
