Minneapolis, Minn., Feb. 25, 2018 – The No. 6-ranked Washington University in St. Louis men's tennis team suffered a heartbreaking 5-4 loss to No. 9 University of Chicago in the third-place match of the 2018 ITA National Division III Team Indoor Championships Sunday in Minneapolis.
Chicago improved its record to 9-1, while WashU fell to 3-2.
With the match tied at 4-4, Chicago's Charlie Pei posted a 7-6, 7-6 win over freshman Koki Takabatake at No. 6 singles to clinch the victory.
