No. 9 Bears Split Matches Against No. 22 Case, No. 15 Chicago

Chicago, Ill., April 9, 2016 – The No. 9-ranked Washington University in St. Louis women's tennis team earned a 7-2 win over No. 22 Case Western Reserve University, but dropped a 6-3 decision at No. 15 University of Chicago Saturday.

In the first match of the day, WashU picked up tiebreaker wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles to take a 2-1 lead. The Bears dropped the opening set of four singles matches, but rallied for three-set wins in three of the four. Senior Jamie Silverberg earned a straight-set victory over No. 44-ranked Jessica Liu at No. 2 singles as WashU won five of six singles matches to seal the match victory.

Junior Rebecca Ho won her seventh straight singles match with a 6-2, 6-1 win over No. 4 Ariana Iranpour at No. 1 singles in the Bears' loss to Chicago. Freshman Lisa Chionis also won in straight sets at No. 6 singles, and the two teamed up for a tiebreaker win at No. 2 doubles.
