Savannah Zhang enters her second season on the WashU volleyball staff as a student assistant coach.

The Bears finished 2017 with a 24-10 overall record and earned their 31st consecutive berth into the NCAA Division III Tournament. WashU also had a pair of All-Americans in 2017, as Julianne Malek earned AVCA Third Team honors and Ifeoma Ufondu was recognized with honorable mention status. The selections marked the 32nd straight season the WashU volleyball program has had an individual highlighted with All-America honors.

Zhang previously played on the Bears' squad from 2015-2016 as a setter, recording 261 assists in her career. In 2016, she set a personal-best with 245 assists while also contributing 11 service aces and 63 digs.

The Hillsborough, N.J.-native is enrolled in the Olin Business School while majoring in economics and strategy with a minor in design.
