Maren Loe enters her fifth season on the WashU volleyball coaching staff after joining as a graduate assistant coach in 2018.

The Bears finished the 2018 season with a 26-8 mark and earned their 32nd straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament. WashU advanced to the second round of the tournament. In total, there were five Bears honored by the University Athletic Association (UAA) with all-conference honors while two individuals were selected to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-America First and Second Team.

Loe was a decorated outside hitter for the University of Chicago volleyball team (2012-2015), where her accolades included First Team All-America, UAA Most Valuable Player, and multiple All-UAA and UAA All-Academic team selections. She holds Chicago records in kills in a match (30), season (617), and career (1960) in addition to her career numbers in digs (6th), block assists (8th), and aces (8th) ranking in the top-10.

Chicago won one UAA championship and made four appearances in the NCAA tournament during her career. The Minnesota-native graduated with a BS in Computational and Applied Mathematics with honors in June 2016.

Loe is currently beginning her fifth year in the Medical Scientist Training Program at Washington University School of Medicine, where she is pursuing an MD and a PhD in Systems Science and Mathematics.
