Oscar Umar enters his fourth season as Assistant Coach/Recruiting Coordinator for the WashU men's soccer team. Umar arrives on the Danforth campus after spending four seasons as a professional soccer player. He played for the Richmond Kickers Soccer Club in Richmond, Va. July 2017-Oct. 2018 and has played for the Saint Louis Football Club since Jan. 2019. 

He served as an assistant coach for the men's soccer team July 2017-Oct. 2018 at Cabrini University in Radnor, Penn. while working toward his Master's degree in Organizational Leadership. 

Umar was a four-year starter at Division I Villanova where he was named to the BIG EAST All-Rookie Team in 2011, Third Team All-Conference in 2012 and the Philly Soccer 6 All-Star Team in 2014. He was voted the team's Most Valuable Player in 2013 and team captain for the 2013 and 2014 seasons. The Wildcats advanced to the BIG EAST Tournament three times during Umar's career.
