Coach Walby has coached the Bears to the program's 22nd UAA Championship title during the 2017 season. She was introduced as the sixth head coach in the 38-year history of the Washington University in St. Louis volleyball program in Dec. 2013. In nine seasons as the Bears' head coach, Vanessa Walby has guided WashU to a 218-62 overall record, seven NCAA Regional appearances, three Regional Championship appearances and an NCAA Division III National Runner-Up finish. In addition Walby led the 2015, 2017, and 2022 University Athletic Association (UAA) Coaching Staff of the Year and has mentored multiple All-Americans, including the 2015 AVCA National Player of the Year.

Greg Selle just finished his 5th season as a full-time assistant with the Bears volleyball program. Before becoming the full-time assistant, Selle served as a part-time assistant in 2015 and 2017 where the Bears finished 34-3 and 24-10 respectively. During that time, the Bears won 2 UAA Titles and made an appearance in the NCAA tournament both years.  


2026 WashU Winter Elite Camp

One day competitive camp geared towards highly skilled student-athletes who aspire to play volleyball at WashU. Open to 10th-11th graders.

Ages: Grades 10th-11th
Dates: February 7th from 9:00am-5:30pm

Overview
Bears Elite Volleyball Camp is a competitive volleyball camp geared towards experienced/elite players with solid fundamental skills who want a rigorous volleyball training with one of the nation's top volleyball programs. They should be looking to play at WashU and have a desire to play at an elite level. This camp will provide skill development and assessment, team competition, individual development and campus/athletic facility tours.

Refund Policy
Cancellations will be accepted prior to January 24th and only medical cancellations will be accepted after January 24th. A $50 handling fee will be assessed on all cancellations. 

Meals
Lunch will be provided during camp. Campers are encouraged to eat a large breakfast before coming to the gym. We will provide some snacks during play but it is minimal and not meant for a meal replacement.

Check-in and Campus Tours
Registration and check-in will be from 8:30-9:00am. The camp will end at 5:30pm. You are welcome to sign up for a formal admissions tour the day before or after as well. More info will be communicated to you as the camp date approaches.

Location and Facilities
The camp sessions will be held in the Field House of the Athletic Complex at the west end of the Danforth campus at Washington University in St. Louis. Access is off of Forsyth Blvd., one block east of Big Bend Blvd.  More detailed directions will be sent prior to the start of camp. 

Staff
The camp is conducted by the Washington University volleyball coaches. The camp staff includes members of the Washington University staff and players.

Insurance
Each camper must provide their own medical insurance for emergency medical care. Please check with your provider to make sure your daughter is covered for this activity. Insurance information and parental consent signatures must be completed on the application. 

Medical
An athletic trainer is on duty during all activity periods. There will be access to a medical doctor and emergency medical facilities in case of emergencies. The athletic trainer will determine whether to seek emergency treatment.
