CHICAGO, Ill. – In a low-scoring contest, the No. 14 Washington University in St. Louis men's soccer team came away with a 1-1 draw against North Park in the team's first away contest of the season. The Bears are now 1-0-1 through their first two games.
It was the Vikings who struck first in the 17th minute as Carson Belcher found the back of the net at 16:07. He had taken a 40-yard pass from Bastian Eikeland, who notched an assist.
With less than a minute left in the first half, sophomore

The Bears and Vikings would play even in the second half as neither team found the back of the net again in the final 45 minutes, and the scoreboard read 1-1 after a complete game.
WashU had a near chance to score when senior
Quentin Gomez had a header hit off the crossbar in the first half at 20:49.
Senior
Cal L'Hommedieu (1-0-1) played all 90 minutes, making four saves, all in the first half.
The Bears had the slight advantage in saves, 4-2, and corner kicks, 7-4.
WashU remains on the road on Monday, Sept. 7, when it visits Elmhurst for a Labor Day contest at 1 p.m.
