LEXINGTON, Ky. – After a stellar weekend helping the No. 13 Washington University in St. Louis volleyball team to a 3-0 record, senior Leah Oyewole has been named the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division III National Player of the Week.

Oyewole finished the weekend with 49 kills on a .316 attack percentage. She added 16 digs, five blocks, three service aces, and a pair of assists. She averaged 4.08 kills per set.

For her efforts, she was named to the All-Tournament Team as well as the Tournament MVP. Earlier this week, she was named the UAA Offensive Athlete of the Week for her matches in Texas.

Oyewole helped the Bears pick up ranked wins over No. 18 Johns Hopkins (3-1) as well as Tiger Classic host No. 3 Trinity, Texas (3-2). WashU also had a win over St. Thomas, Texas (3-0). The Bears are currently 8-2 on the season as they head into the first UAA Round Robin this weekend.
