BLOOMINGTON & CHICAGO, Ill. – In another split meet weekend, the No. 2 Washington University in St. Louis women's track and field team sent members of the sprints event group to the Windy City Invite in Chicago while other members of the team participated in the annual Keck Select Invite hosted by Illinois Wesleyan.
No team scores were kept at either meet.
Top Finishes (Windy City)
- 400m
- In a deep field of Div. I athletes, sophomore Hailey Weir finished ninth with a time of 57.07, the 12th fastest in Div. III this season.
- 400m (Mondo)
- In an invitation only event, senior Kylie Spytek finished 10th with a time of 56.45, the sixth fastest in Div. III this year.
- 800m
- Three Bears finished in the top 10 in the event with junior Caroline Echols leading the way in third place in a time of 2:10.28
- It set both a personal best and the second fastest in Div. III this season
- Senior Cate Stevens and sophomore Kalena Riemer were ninth and tenth, with times of 2:14.52 and 2:14.68, respectively
- 4x400m
- The WashU A team (members to be confirmed) finished fifth in the event with a time of 3:48.06.
- It marked the third best in Div. III this season
Top Finishes (Keck Select)
- 3000m
- The Bears went deep with three in the top five as senior Jillian Heth was runner-up with a time of 9:43.29, the 10th best in Div. III while sophomore Lucinda Laughlin was third with a time of 9:47.63, 19th best in Div. III.
- Sophomore Sofia Sheldon rounded out the top five with her time of 10:00.57, the 50th best in Div. III

- Mile
- Sophomore Mackenzie Raue claimed the win in a time of 5:10.61.
- Almost right behind her was her sister, first-year Megan Raue in third place with a time of 5:12.81.
- Junior Kira Larner and senior Kristin Loftus also finished in the top 10 with times of 5:26.63 and 5:27.43, respectively

- 400m
- 800m
- First-year Kate Delia claimed the win with the 15th fastest time in Div. III of 2:14.14.
- Sophomore Lauren Raley was runner-up with her time of 2:15.37
- Shot Put
- Senior Jenae Bothe continues to rewrite the shot put records at WashU as not only did she claim the win but her throw of 15.16m broke the program record she set last season (14.96m), is the new #1 in Div. III, and would break the UAA record if thrown at the conference meet.
- It was also 2.27 meters ahead of runner-up Kayle Braun of Monmouth
- High Jump
- Junior Olivia Theisen set a season best and new sixth best in Div. III with her clear of 1.69m to win the event
- Pole Vault
- The Bears had five of the top 10 clears led by first-year Talia West who finished fifth with a height of 3.65m
- Weight Throw
- Senior Kally Mack finished as runner-up with a throw of 13.27m
WashU will compete next Saturday, Feb. 14 at the Midwest Elite Invitational hosted by UW Whitewater at the Kachel Fieldhouse.
