WHITEWATER, Wis. – As teams begin their final tuneups for conference championships, the No. 2 Washington University in St. Louis women's track and field team competed at the Midwest Elite Invite on Saturday, hosted by Wis.-Whitewater.

Top Finishes
- 5000m
- In a field of nearly 100 athletes, sophomore Sally Carrington took 12th place with a time of 17:53.08
- First-year Leah Sekulich also finished in the top 20 in 17th place in a time of 18:00.02
- Weight Throw
- Senior Jenae Bothe finished in 15th place with a throw of 13.49m
- Classmate Kally Mack also finished in the top 20 with a throw of 13.31 to finish in 18th place
- Shot Put
- Once again, Bothe claimed the shot put event win.
- This week her throw of 14.61m still cleared the runner-up by 1.51m
- Long Jump
- Junior Olivia Theisen finished with a leap of 5.41m to finish in seventh place
- Triple Jump
- Junior Sofia Rosenzwieg had her season-best with a distance of 11.14m, far enough to finish in fourth place
- High Jump
- Theisen backed up her long jump in the high jump with a runner-up finish in a height of 1.59m
- Pole Vault
- The Bears finished three in the top 10 with first-year Campbell Pallera finishing in third place with a height of 3.80m
- Right behind her in fourth place was senior Mackenzie Walker with a clear of 3.80m
- In 10th place was junior Meredyth Barr with a successful clear of 3.50m
- Mile
- Senior Riley Clark had a personal best to finish third with a time of 5:07.04
- First-year Megan Raue also finished in the top 10 in sixth place with a time of 5:13.29
- 400m
- 60m
- 800m
- 200m
- Not only did WashU take the top two spots but finished with five of the top six
- Sophomore Hailey Weir won with her time of 25.25 while senior Kylie Spytek finished runner-up in a time of 25.32
- Junior Julia Coric (25.58), Wright (25.66), and sophomore Quinn Bird (25.89) finished in fourth through sixth places
- 4x400m
- The team of Bird, Echols, Christopher, and Spytek not only claimed the win in a time of 3:47.92, but set the best time in Div. III this season
WashU will next compete at the IC Hilltop Classic hosted by Illinois College on Friday, Feb. 20 in Jacksonville, Ill. in the final tune-up for the 2026 UAA Indoor Championships.
