UAA CHAMPION! Chan Wins 500 Freestyle Title, Sets New UAA Record

CHICAGO, Ill. – UAA CHAMPION! Washington University in St. Louis men's swimming and diving first-year Parker Chan won his first-career UAA title on Thursday evening in the 500 freestyle, posting a time of 4:23.98. The time sets a new UAA record, previously set back in 2020.
 
The Bears are in fourth place with 432.5 points.

  • 200 Freestyle Relay
  • 500 Freestyle
    • Chan claimed the title in 4:23.98, setting a new UAA record
    • Senior Matt Giardinelli finished second in the B final and 10th overall in 4:29.23, hitting an NCAA B cut
    • First-year Gavin Coggan finished 16th overall in 4:35.47
       
  • 200 IM
    • Junior Marco Minai took third with a time of 1:47.17, hitting an NCAA B cut
    • Feng finished second in the B final and 10th overall in 1:49.50, an NCAA B cut
    • Sophomore Ben Scott took third in the B final and 11th overall with a time of 1:50.59
       
  • 50 Freestyle
    • Koehler finished 12th overall with a time of 20.65
    • Heether took 13th in 20.72
       
  • 400 Medley Relay
    • Chan, sophomore Brody Schrepfer, Minai and Feng claimed fifth in 3:16.41, hitting an NCAA B cut
    • Senior Andy Zhu, Scott, Walker and Taft finished 13th overall in 3:21.70
       
Action continues tomorrow with preliminaries at 10 a.m. and finals and 6 p.m. for the following events: 100 butterfly, 400 IM, 200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, 100 backstroke, 200 medley relay and 1-meter diving.
