TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Washington University in St. Louis women's track and field team was on the road before the weather arrived taking part in the Friday Night Spikes #2 hosted by Rose-Hulman last night.
No team scores were kept.
Top Finishes:
- 60m
- Junior Maya Davis not only claimed the win with a time of 7.88, but she set a facility record in the process.
- Mile
- The Bears finished with second through 11th places
- Sophomore Sofia Sheldon was runner-up with a time of 5:09.22 while senior Tatum Goforth was third with at time of 5:10.22
- First-years Taylor Buese and Leah Sekulich rounded out the top five with times of 5:13.00 and 5:13.53, respectively
- 400m
- First-year Lucy Johnson was runner-up with a mark of 1:02.78
- 800m
- In a completely, dominating fashion, WashU claimed the top 20 spots in the event with sophomore Lucinda Laughlin winning with a time of 2:14.19.
- Junior Caroline Echols was runner-up with a time of 2:16.71
- Sophomore Ellie Cain was third with a mark of 2:17.12.
- First-year Kate Delia and senior Cate Stevens were fourth and fifth with times of 2:17.43 and 2:17.92, respectively.
- Senior Riley Clark (2:18.24), junior Cate Christopher (2:20.85), sophomore Lauren Raley (2:21.49), Sheldon (2:21.88), and first-year Mega Raue (2:23.04) rounded out the top 10
- 3000m
- It was another event controlled by WashU with Laughlin winning her second event with a time of 10:19.65
- Sophomore Grace Todd was second with a time of 10:42
- Clark was third with a mark of 10:46.30 while sophomore Mackenzie Raue was fourth with a time of 10:46.37
- 4x400m
- Long Jump
- Triple Jump
- It was junior Sofia Rosenzweig claiming the win by over a meter with a distance of 10.96m.
- Shot Put
- Senior Jenae Bothe won the shot put for the second week in a row with her toss of 13.79m, nearly three meters further than second place's 10.95m
- Weight Throw
- Bothe claimed her second win on the day with a throw of 13.29m.
- Classmate Kally Mack was fourth with a distance of 12.47m
- High Jump
- Theisen claimed the win with a clear of 1.61m
- Pole Vault
WashU will travel back next Saturday, Jan. 31, to Terre Haute for the Rose-Hulman Classic.
