Bourdier Sets Program And UAA Record In Pole Vault For WashU Men's Track & Field At Friday Night Spikes #2

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – If beating out the weather was the goal, the Washington University in St. Louis men's track and field team did just that in "record" pace. Multiple personal and a program and UAA record were broken last night at the Friday Night Spikes #2 hosted by Rose-Hulman.

No team scores were kept at the meet.

  • Long Jump
    • Senior Carson Page finished fourth wit a leap of 6.40m, just .02 out of first place
  • Triple Jump
  • Shot Put
    • First-year Scott Cook finished in sixth place with a throw of 13.44m
  • High Jump
    • Senior Eli Goldman was runner-up with a clear of 1.86m
  • Pole Vault
    • Senior George Bourdier had his best meet in the event. He not only claimed the event win in a facility record clear of 5.22m but in the process he broke the school record for indoor or outdoor.
    • The mark also broke the UAA record for both indoor and outdoor seasons.
    • Graduate Tommaso Maiocco was runner-up with a height of 5.02m while sophomore Zachary Duckworth was third with a clear of 4.72m

    • It was another deep event for the Bears with Gros-Slovinsky winning with a time of 1:55.89
    • Corbett was runner-up wit a time of 1:56.52.
    • First-year Cameron Bettinger was third with a time of 1:57.54.
    • Senior Brandon Brazil and first-year Bankson Roach rounded out the top five with times of 1:57.80 and 1:57.96.

  • 3000m
    • First-year Charles Glatz claimed runner-up finish with a time of 9:07.05
  • 4x400m
 
WashU will travel back next Saturday, Jan. 31, to Terre Haute for the Rose-Hulman Classic.
