ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The Bear Beats is a weekly release that will be posted on Mondays to provide a look back at the past week of action and to preview the events for the upcoming week. The 19th episode for the 2025-26 year will feature men's and women's basketball, men's and women's swimming, and men's and women's indoor track and field.

No. 4 Men's Basketball
- WashU stays on the road for the second weekend of UAA play when it travels to Carnegie Mellon and Case Western Reserve.
- The Bears start off on Friday, Jan. 16 in Pittsburgh against the Tartans.
- Game time is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. ET at the Wiegand Gym on CMU's campus.
- Last season WashU swept the season series including a 78-54 win on the road.

- Two days later on Sunday, Jan. 18, the Bears visit Cleveland to take on the Spartans at Horsburgh Gymnasium.
- Game time is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET.
- A year ago, WashU picked up an 86-68 win over CWRU on the road to complete the season sweep.

No. 8 Men's and No. 11 Women's Swimming and Diving
- The Bears return to Millstone Pool this weekend for its final two home duals of the season, welcoming in a pair of Div. II opponents in UMSL and Quincy.
- On Friday, Jan. 16 WashU will face off against the Tritons at 5 p.m.
- Last season the men's team picked up a 153-78 win while the women defeated UMSL 155-82.
- The next day on Saturday, Jan. 17 the Bears will honor their seniors prior to the dual against the Hawks, which begins at 1 p.m.
- This will be the first meeting between WashU and Quincy.

No. 18 Women's Basketball

- Tip-off against CWRU is scheduled for 11 a.m. ET

Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field
- WashU will begin the 2026 portion of its schedule on Saturday, Jan. 17 when they travel to the annual EIU John Craft Invite in Charleston, Ill.Â
- The field events get underway at 10 a.m. inside Lantz Fieldhouse with the track events starting 12:30 p.m.
