MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The No. 7 Washington University in St. Louis women's soccer team blanked the University of Mary-Hardin Baylor 6-0 on Saturday afternoon, at Rhodes. The Bears are now 6-0-1 on the season.
The Bears scored two first-half goals on UMHB. Following a free kick and a shot off the post, first-year
Heidi Fesler put in her second goal of the season on a pass from junior
Sophie Viscovich for the 1-0 lead in the 33
rd minute.
In the 38
th minute, the duo swapped roles as Viscovich scored on a pass from Fesler for a 2-0 Bears' lead.
Sophomore
Cami Colpitts scored the Bears' third goal of the game off a corner kick in the 61
st minute on a high ball. It marks her second goal of the season.
Less than two minutes later, senior
Grace Ehlert scored her team-leading seventh goal of the year on a pass from sophomore
Olivia Clemons.
Senior
Ella Koleno put in the fifth goal of the match in the 71
st minute, scoring in the high left corner.
Fesler scored her second goal of the game in the 89
th minute, putting in a pass from first-year
Annika Park to extend the Bears' lead to 6-0.
The Bears outshot UMHB 31-5 including 15 shots on goal, and also registered three corner kicks.
Viscovich registered a team-high six shots with three on goal while Clemons had three shots, all on goal. Fesler recorded two shots, also both on goal. Sophomore goalkeeper
Kassidy Lanthier earned the clean sheet.
The Bears are back against host team Rhodes tomorrow at 1:30 p.m.
