Pilpil, Reardon, Burgasser Earn All-Region Honors

LOUISVILLE, Ky.
– Three players from the Washington University in St. Louis softball team were selected as National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Region VIII honorees, the organization recently announced.
 
Senior Natalia Pilpil was a repeat selection to the first team. Senior Erin Reardon earned a spot on the first team and senior Jamie Burgasser was named to the second team.
 
Pilpil closed out the year with a .374 batting average and a 1.006 on-base plus slugging (OPS) in 41 games played. She recorded 43 hits including eight doubles and a team-high four homeruns, as well as 17 runs scored and a team-leading 34 RBI. In 115 at-bats, Pilpil struck out just one time all season. In the field, there was just one error credited to her for a .996 fielding percentage.
 
Reardon led the team with a .450 batting average, putting her at a career average of .392 which ranks seventh all-time in program history. She finished with an OPS of 1.116 in 37 games played. Reardon tallied 49 hits including six doubles, two triples and two homeruns, scored 27 runs and recorded 13 RBI. In the outfield, she had a .981 fielding percentage with just a single error to her name.
 
Burgasser led the Bears with a 1.64 ERA and racked up a 13-1 record. She made 17 appearances and pitched 10 complete games with one shutout and a save. Burgasser struck out 61 batters and opponents had a .209 average against her. Her 32 career wins puts her at eighth on the career lists while her four saves put her tied for third. Burgasser also ranks ninth all-time for appearances (63), eighth for complete games (27), eighth for innings pitched (306.1) and seventh for strikeouts (235).
 
WashU wrapped up the 2025 season with a 34-7 record, posting the most wins in a single season since 2016. The Bears won the UAA, finishing conference play with a 17-1 mark and went on to host the NCAA Regional for the second-straight year and just the second time in program history.
