CHICAGO, Ill. – 2025 UAA CHAMPIONS! The No. 3 Washington University in St. Louis women's indoor track and field team won its sixth UAA Indoor Championship in a row, finishing the 2025 Championships with 181 points.
The Bears finished ahead of second-place Chicago (160.5 points) and Emory (112 points).
Top Finishers on Sunday:
- Shot Put
- UAA Champion! Junior Jenae Bothe claimed the UAA title with a UAA record throw of 14.80m. It was also a PR and the second furthest throw this season in Div. III.
- She scored 10 team points.
- High Jump
- UAA Champion! Sophomore Olivia Theisen won the UAA title with a leap of 1.63m.
- Theisen cleared the height earlier than teammate graduate Ebun Opata who tied for second place with the same 1.63m.
- They combined to add 17 team points to the WashU total
- Triple Jump
- Opata followed up her high jump success with another runner-up finish in the triple jump with a leap of 12.14m.
- 1 Mile
- Senior Virginia Pridgen finished fourth in the 1 mile in a time of 4:59.83. Junior Katie Rector finished seventh in the event with a time of 5:04.33.
- They combined for seven points
- 60m Hurdles
- Senior Lauren Gay was runner-up with a time of 8.79. It was a season best and the 13th best time in Div. III this year.
- She secured eight team points
- 400m
- The Bears finished third through fifth as junior Kyle Spytek (57.50) and sophomores Cate Christopher (57.67) and Julia Coric (57.78) all scored team points.
- They combined for 15 teams points
- 60m
- UAA Champion! Junior Jasmine Wright won the event with a time of 7.56 which was a not only a PR but a UAA record. It also marked the fourth best in Div. III this year
- Sophomore Maya Davis finished the finals in fifth place with a time of 7.72
- The two added 14 points for the Bears
- 800m
- UAA Champion! All three WashU entrants finished in the top four as junior Izzy Gorton had a season best 2:12.15 to claim the title. It was also the 16th best in Div. III this year.
- First-year Kalena Riemer (2:14.77) and sophomore Caroline Echols (2:15.63) each scored team points for third and fourth place, respectively.
- The Bears added 21 total points from the event.
- 200m
- Gay was the top Bear finisher with a time of 25.28 to finish runner-up
- Senior Nicole Stewart was third with a time of 25.58. First-year Quinn Bird was the final Bear in the event and finished fifth with at time of 25.65.
- They scored 18 team points.
- 3000m
- Senior Abby Patterson finished seventh in the final with a time of 10:01.50, securing two team points.
- 4x400 Relay
- UAA Champions! The team of Bird, Christopher, Coric, and Echols came away with the fastest time of 3:50.62 to claim the conference title.
- The relay team added the final 10 points for the Bears.
