Minai Hits Two NCAA B Cuts on First Day of D3 Shootout

CHICAGO, Ill. – The No. 10 Washington University in St. Louis men's swimming and diving team is in third with 285 points following day one of the D3 Shootout, hosted by the University of Chicago.

  • 200 Medley Relay
  • 400 IM
    • Junior Marco Minai finished second, hitting an NCAA B Cut time of 3:58.31
    • Scott finished third in the B final and 13th overall with a time of 4:02.76
       
  • 200 Freestyle
    • Senior Ethan Feng finished fifth in 1:40.48
    • First-year Gavin Coggan took second in the B final and 12th overall with a time of 1:41.66
       
  • 50 Freestyle
    • Koehler finished eighth, swimming a time of 21.47
    • First-year Kevin Raghunathan finished 18th overall with a time of 21.68
       
  • Mixed 400 Relay
    • Feng, Raghunathan, junior Elizabeth Chen and sophomore Iris Qi finished second with a time of 3:41.99
       
  • 200 Fly
    • Minai finished second with a time of 1:49.17, hitting an NCAA B cut
    • Walker took second in the B final and 12th overall with a time of 1:52.17
       
  • 100 Backstroke
    • Chan finished fourth in 50.26
    • Coggan took third in the B final and 13th overall in 52.44
       
  • 100 Breaststroke
    • Scott finished sixth with a time of 57.01
    • Raghunathan finished fourth in the B final and 14th overall in 57.54
       
  • 800 Freestyle Relay
    • Chan, Feng, Coggan and Minai took second in 6:41.15
      • Both WashU and the winning Chicago team swam faster than the previous meet record
         
DIVING
  • 1-Meter
    • First-year Ian Corey finished eighth with a score of 197.25
       
The Bears wrap up at the D3 Shootout tomorrow. Additionally, WashU will be competing at IU Indy.
