CHICAGO, Ill. – The No. 6 Washington University in St. Louis men's swimming and diving team sits in second place with 542 points the first day of competition at the 16^th Annual Phoenix Fall Classic, hosted by the University of Chicago. The meet spans three days, held at the Chicago's Myers-McLoraine Pool.

• 200 Freestyle Relay
  • The team of first-year Jackson Heether, first-year Robin Koehler, sophomore Nicholas Frank and senior Ethan Feng finished tied for sixth with a time of 1:22.38.
  • The team of senior Henry Tavens, sophomore Thomas Bergin, graduate Mikey Thurk and sophomore Jacob Tulchinksy finished eighth in 1:23.18
     
• 500 Freestyle
  • First-year Parker Chan won the field with a B Cut time of 4:25.05
  • First-year Gavin Coggan took eight in 4:34.54
     
• 200 IM
  • Junior Marco Minai took third with an NCAA B cut time of 1:48.93
  • Feng finished ninth in 1:50.64
     
• 50 Freestyle
  • Koehler took 10^th with a time of 20.93
     
• 400 Medley Relay
  • The Bears' team of Chan, sophomore Ben Scott, senior Matthew Walker and Feng finished sixth with a time of 3:19.66
  • The group of first-year Aara Parseghian, sophomore Gabriel Herzlinger, Minai and Thurk took seventh in 3:19.77

 
The Bears continue competition tomorrow with the 400 IM, 100 butterfly, 200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, 100 backstroke and 800 freestyle relay.
