Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

No. 2 WashU Men's Soccer Falls To NYU, 1-0

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – It was a cool start on Saturday morning for the No. 2 Washington University in St. Louis men's soccer team as the Bears felt the cold sting of a 1-0 setback to NYU at Francis Olympic Field. The Violets used a first-half goal to escape with the win over WashU.

The loss moves the Bears to 12-3 overall and 4-2 in the UAA standings.

NYU scored the game-winner in the 20th minute as Terra Nagai took a pass from Keyon Namdar at 19:26 for the lone goal of the contest.

After both teams took three shots in the first 45 minutes, the Violets controlled the offensive side of play in the second half. NYU took six shots to just two for the Bears. However, it was WashU who had the advantage in corner kicks with seven while allowing just three for the Violets.

Senior Zach Susee had two shots for the Bears, both of which needed to be saved by the Violets.

WashU will host its regular season finale on Saturday, Nov. 8, when it hosts No. 7 Chicago at Francis Olympic Field. Kickoff with the Maroons is scheduled for 4 p.m.
