Loucas Xenakis of the Washington University in St. Louis men's track and field team wrapped up his two-day NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships with the final three events of the heptathlon, Saturday, March 9.
With the updated United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCA) guidelines that were released this past week, Xenakis recorded a Second Team All-America nod (ninth-16th place finishers). USTFCCCA will make an official release of the Second Team All-Americans on Monday, March 11.
Saturday's Top Finishers:
Heptathlon Pole Vault:
- Loucas Xenakis cleared the 4.35m bar to secured a third-place finish in the event
Heptathlon 60 Meter Hurdles:
- Loucas Xenakis generated a 17th-place finish in the heptathlon 60-meter hurdles as he crossed the finish line with a time of 9.033
Heptathlon 1,000 Meters:
- Loucas Xenakis notched sixth in the 1,000-meter race as he turned in a time of 2:47.90
The Bears will transition to the outdoor portion of its schedule. WashU will host the WashU Triangular on Saturday, March 23, with the first event beginning at 10 a.m. on Bushyhead Track. The Bears will compete alongside Illinois College and Greenville University.
