GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Washington University in St. Louis men's swimming and diving team is in 15^th place with 20 points following the first day of the 2024 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships.
 
Senior Alex McCormick highlighted the day with a fifth-place finish in the 200 IM. His time of 1:47.01 broke his own program record of 1:47.18, set in 2023.
 
The Bears' team of senior Kyle Wolford, junior Justin Rockaway, McCormick and senior Austin Bick finished 14^th overall in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:29.43.
 
The Bears continue the championships tomorrow. The events are: 200 freestyle relay, 400 IM, 100 butterfly, 200 freestyle and 400 medley relay.
