ORANGE, Calif. – The No. 17 Washington University in St. Louis women's tennis team closed out its spring break trip with a 5-4 win over No. 31 Chapman on Friday afternoon. The Bears are now 8-2 and have just one loss to a Division III opponent.

Katherine Johnston and
Karen Gao topped Olivia Desso and Lucy Erickson 8-4 at No. 2 doubles.
Nina Moravek and
Ainsley Heidbreder beat Alexis Golin and Brooke Waite 8-6 at No. 3 doubles.

Eliana Hanna and
Amber Edmonds fell to Chloe Cadelina and Racquel Fhima 8-4 at No. 1 doubles.
Singles
Gao defeated Waite 6-1, 7-5 at No. 3 singles and Edmonds topped Erickson 6-3, 6-1 at No. 4 singles.
Emily Chiasson beat Lily Kresser 6-2, 6-2 at No. 5 singles.
Moravek fell to Golin 7-5, 6-1 at No. 1 singles and Hanna lost to Desso 2-6, 7-6, 10-5 at No. 2 singles.
Carolyn Tsung was defeated by Fhima 6-3, 2-6, 10-5 at No. 6 singles.
The Bears hit the road again next weekend for a pair of matches in Texas, starting with No. 16 Trinity on Friday and No. 29 Southwestern on Saturday.
