NEW YORK, N.Y. - Behind winning marks from
Alex Gardner (200-meters) and
Peter Lichtenberger (pole vault), the Washington University in St. Louis men's track and field team recorded a fourth-place finish at the two-day University Athletic Association Indoor Championships, February 24-25.
The Bears racked up a total of 97 points. Carnegie Mellon won the conference title, securing 177 points.
Sunday's Top Finishers:
200 Meters (Final):
- UAA CHAMPION!
- Gardner won the 200-meter event with a winning time of 22.17, utilizing a personal-best mark
Pole Vault (Final):
- UAA CHAMPION!
- Lichtenberger won the pole vault event as he posted a vault of 4.76m
- George Bourdier secured a third-place finish (4.66m), while Tommaso Maiocco earned fourth (4.51m)
4 x 400 Relay (Final):

60 Meters (Final):
- Gardner turned in a fourth-place finish in the 60-meter dash as he turned in a time of 7.073
800 Meters (Final):
- In the 800-meter final, William Frohling recorded third in the event as he posted a mark of 1:52.42
- Sidamon-Eristoff (1:53.538) took sixth, while Jackson Cox (2:03.64) grabbed eighth
3,000 Meters (Final):
- WashU had three runners compete in the 3,000-meter race
- Kyle Puckett finished fourth as he turned in a time of 8:26.13
- Matthew Hornung secured ninth in the event (8:31.60)
- Conor Daly spun a time of 8:49.09, good for 17th

WashU is set to compete in Wartburg College's last chance meet, Friday-Saturday, March 1-2 in hopes of earning a better mark to qualify for the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships. The NCAA Division III Indoor Championships are scheduled for Friday-Saturday, March 8-9, in Virginia Beach, Va.
