NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. - The No. 9 Washington University in St. Louis men's tennis team fell in the ITA National Indoor Championships, 4-0, to No. 6 Emory University, Sunday, February 25 to take a runner-up finish after securing a 2-1 weekend record.
In doubles action, Emory took all three matches to secure the one available doubles point.
The No. 1 doubles duo of sophomore
Colin Fox and senior
Gaurav Singh fell, 4-6, to Brandon Cohen and Ryan Glanville.
In singles action, Phillips dropped his No. 1 singles match to Kamenev, 3-6, 1-6.
Sophomore
Eric Kuo came up short against Shah at No. 2 singles, 4-6, 1-6.
At No. 5 singles, Singh fell to Liew in straight sets, 1-6, 3-6.
With Emory already at four points, the No. 3, No. 4, and No. 6 singles matches were not completed.
The Bears will open up the 2024 outdoor slate with a home dual match against North Central College, Saturday, March 2. Action from the Tao Tennis Center is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
