Chicago, Ill. – The No. 14 Washington University in St. Louis men's swimming and diving team is in fifth place with 385 points following the second day of the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championships, hosted by the University of Chicago.
Senior
Alex McCormick had the best finish of the day for the Bears, claiming third in the 200 IM with an NCAA B cut and 2023 qualifying time of 1:47.32. First-year
Marco Minai finished second in the B Final and 10
th overall with an NCAA B cut of 1:50.58 while sophomore
Ethan Feng finished 11
th overall and third in the B Final with an NCAA B cut time of 1:50.63.
Junior
Jeffrey Forbes had the top finish for WashU in the 500 freestyle with a NCAA B cut time of 4:30.60 to take fourth. Sophomore
Matt Giardinelli also made it onto the podium with a seventh-place finish with a time of 4:31.67.

The Bears are back on Friday for day three of the UAA Championships with the 400 IM, 100 butterfly, 200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, 100 backstroke and 200 medley relay.
