No. 3 Women's Track and Field Competes at NCC Invite, St. Francis Invite

Joliet, Ill. – The No. 3 Washington University in St. Louis women's track and field team competed at the the North Central Carius-Gregory Invitational and 2023 St. Francis Fighting Chance Invite this weekend.
 
Carius-Gregory Invitational
The Bears won the 4x400m as the team of Sophie Fox, Aoife Dunne, Ally Sarussi and Emma Kelley raced to a time of 3:48.05.
 
Senior Emily Konkus finished third in the 1,500m, running to a time of 4:25.34 which sets a new program record, beating the previous record set in 2012 and puts her third nationally.
 
Sophomore Julia Patterson finished fifth in the 3,000m steeplechase with a time of 11:03.09.
 
Senior Kiera Olson finished fifth in the 5,000m, running a time of 17:05.36, which puts her ninth in program history.
 
Graduate Miku Okada finished second in the high jump, clearing 1.61m.
 
Fox, a senior, took fourth in the 400m, racing to a time of 57.24 which puts her tied for 43rd nationally.
 
Senior Danielle Schultz finished sixth in the 800m with a time of 2:12.80 which ranks her 25th nationally while Sarussi, a junior, finished eighth in 2:15.30.
 
Sophomore Ruby Kaplan took eighth in the 400m hurdles, racing to a time of 1:04.79.
 
First-year Jenae Bothe won the shot put, hitting a mark of 13.95m which sets a new program, which was previously set by her in April. It also ranks her 15th nationally.
 
Sophomore Yasmin Ruff won the pole vault, clearing 3.80m.
 
Junior Ebun Opata finished second in the long jump with a jump of 5.74m.
 
St. Francis Invite
Okada took second in the high jump, hitting a mark of 1.64m.
 
Ruff finished second in the pole vault, clearing 3.88m. Anna Curtis took ninth, clearing 3.28m.
 
Opata took third in the long jump, hitting a mark of 5.76m which ties her for third in program history and puts her 18th nationally. She then finished second in the triple jump, jumping 12.09m which ranks eighth nationally.
 
Junior Charis Riebe took third in the 100m hurdles, racing to a time of 14.46 which ties her for sixth in program history and 30th nationally while sophomore Lauren Gay finished fourth in 14.88.
 
Senior Mycah Clay finished sixth in the 100m with a time of 12.29. Senior Lauren Hamilton finished seventh with a time of 12.34 and sophomore Nicole Stewart finished eighth in 12.35.
 
Stewart then finished second in the 200m, racing to a time of 25.14. First-year Jasmine Wright finished third in 25.58 while Hamilton took sixth in 26.02 and Clay finished seventh in 26.12.
 
The Bears head to the Augustana Last Chance Invite on Thursday, which marks the final day of competition before the NCAA National Championships beginning May 25.
