Women's Track and Field

No. 3 Women's Track and Field Wins Three Golds on Day One of UAA Outdoor Championships

Chicago, Ill. – The No. 3 Washington University in St. Louis women's track and field team is in second place with 72.50 points following the first day of the UAA Championships, hosting by the University of Chicago.
 
The group of senior Danielle Schultz, senior Lindsay Ott, junior Helena Teixeira-Dasilva and junior Emma Kelley won the 4x800m relay with a time of 9:04.64.
 
Sophomore Yasmin Ruff won the pole vault, clearing 3.91m which ranks fourth in program history. Junior Anna Curtis finished sixth with a 3.10m clear.
 
Sophomore Julia Patterson won the 3,000m steeplechase with a time of 11:07.18. Sophomore Abby Patterson took third in 11:32.80.
 
Krista Sudar finished third in the hammer throw with a mark of 45.90m.
 
Junior Ebun Opata finished third in the long jump with a mark of 5.41m while senior Laura Bucchieri took fifth with a jump of 5.17m.
 
First-year Jenae Bothe finished second in the shot put with a throw of 12.85m.
 
Senior Kiera Olson took third in the 10,000m run with a time of 35:50.48 while first-year Katie Rector finished fifth in 36:56.47.
 
Sophomore Lauren Gay finished second in the 100m hurdles preliminaries with a time of 14.68.
 
Kelley finished with the top preliminary time in the 400m with a time of 56.33 while senior Sophie Fox finished second in 58.96.
 
Sophomore Nicole Stewart finished fourth in the 100m preliminaries with a time of 12.42 while first-year Jasmine Wright finished seventh in 12.61 and senior Mycah Clay finished eighth in 12.63.
 
Senior Aoife Dunne finished with the top time in the 800m preliminaries with a time of 2:12.94. Junior Ally Sarussi finished fourth in 2:13.51 and Schultz finished fifth with a time of 2:14.30.
 
Sophomore Ruby Kaplan finished third in the 400m hurdles preliminaries with a time of 1:06.38.
 
Stewart finished second in the 200m preliminaries with a time of 25.46 while Gay finished third in 25.79. Wright finished sixth in 26.11.
 
The Bears wrap up the outdoor championships tomorrow.
