No. 2 Women's Track and Field Have Strong Showing at Wartburg Last Chance

Waverly, Iowa – The No. 2 Washington University in St. Louis women's track and field team competed at the Wartburg Last Chance Meet and the Firebird Finale hosted by Carthage this weekend.
 
Wartburg
Senior Sophie Fox won the 400m, posting a time of 58.46 which ranks 30th nationally and seventh in program history.
 
Junior Emma Kelley won the 800m with a time of 2:09.77 which ranks first nationally. Junior Aoife Dunne finished second with a time of 2:10.97 which ranks fourth in program history and third nationally. Junior Ally Sarussi took fifth in 2:14.41 which ranks 11th nationally and senior Danielle Schultz finished ninth in 2:16.32 which ranks 34th nationally.
 
First-year Jasmine Wright finished seventh in the 60m with a time of 7.74 after posting the top preliminary time of 7.71. The preliminary time ranks 25th nationally and is tied for second in program history.
 
Sophomore Lauren Gay finished fifth in the 200m with a time of 25.14 which is second in program history and ranks 12th nationally. Sophomore Nicole Stewart finished eighth in 25.36 which ranks 23rd nationally and fourth in program history.
 
Senior Lindsay Ott finished sixth in the mile, posting a time of 5:00.23 which ranks sixth in program history and 34th nationally. Helena Teixeira-DaSilva finished 10th in 5:02.25 which ranks 10th in program history.
 
WashU's 4x400 relay team of Kylie Spytek, Fox, Dunne and Kelley finished second in 3:49.86 which ranks third in program history and third nationally.
 
Senior Miku Okada took fifth in the high jump, clearing 1.58m.
 
First-year Jenae Bothe took sixth in the shot put, hitting a mark of 13.40m.

Junior Charis Riebe won the 55m hurdles with a time of 8.23 which ranks second in program history and 25th nationally.
 
Junior Ebun Opata took third in the long jump, recording a leap of 5.41m.
 
The Bears head to the NCAA Indoor National Championship on March 10-11 in Birmingham, Ala.
