Greensboro, N.C. – Sophomore
Danny Sibley headlined the day as the Washington University in St. Louis swimming and diving teams rounded out day two of the NCAA Championships, held at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.
Sibley finished second in the 400 IM, swimming to a time of 3:51.20 and setting a new school record. Sibley shaved nearly a second off his preliminary time en route to the win. It is his first career All-America honor.
Mason Kelber notched his second All-America honor of the weekend and the 11
th of his career, taking third in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:37.06.
Pace Edwards took 12
th with a time of 1:38.78 while Lipkin finished 14
th in 1:38.81. Both Edwards and Lipkin earn a second team All-America honor, the second for Edwards and the first for Lipkin.
The Bears 400 medley relay team of
Alexander McCormick,
Austin Bick,
Nicolas Gomez and Sibley finished 12
th overall with a time of 3:17.76.
WashU's men sit in ninth place after two days with 82 points while the women are in 30
th. The Bears continue competition tomorrow with the 400 butterfly, 100 backstroke, 100 breaststroke and 800 freestyle relay.
