Chicago, Ill. – The No. 14 Washington University in St. Louis women's swimming and diving team finished fourth with 144 points at the Midwest Invitational, hosted by the University of Chicago. Case Western Reserve won with 608 points.
Day 1
Following the first day of competition, the Bears had 36 points and were in fifth place. Case Western Reserve University sat in first with 173 points.
Senior
Sam Auditore finished third in the 500 freestyle, notching a time of 5:40.03.
Sophomore Caroline Deluca took third in the 200 IM with a time of 2:12.13.
Sophomore
Alice Mao swam a time trial in the 100 backstroke, clocking a time of 1:00.10 while junior
Abby Liff swam a time trial in the 200 breaststroke, hitting a time of 2:23.54.
Day 2
Liff won the 100 breaststroke, swimming a time of 1:05.59. She then went on to finish second in the 200 breaststroke in 2:22.51.
Auditore took second in the 1,650 freestyle, racing to a time of 19:30.71.
Deluca finished second in the 100 backstroke, swimming to a time of 59.34. She went on to take eighth in the 100 freestyle in 53.63.
Mao finished second in the 200 butterfly, racing to a time of 2:12.39 and then took ninth in the 200 freestyle in 1:59.44.
The Bears now break from competition until the NCAA Championships which start on March 15.
