No. 2 Women's Soccer Blanks No. 6 Case Western Reserve

Cleveland, Ohio – The No. 2 Washington University in St. Louis women's soccer team defeated No. 6 Case Western Reserve University 2-0 on the road on Sunday. The Bears are now 13-0-1 on the year with a 5-0-1 mark in UAA play and are the lone team remaining across all divisions and genders that has not conceded a goal yet this season.
 
WashU scored its first goal of the game 12:09 in as Sophie Viscovich netted her second goal of the year and first game-winner.
 
With less than three minutes remaining the first half, first-year Madison Foley scored her third goal of the season, making it a 2-0 game.
 
Prior to the first goal, junior Emma Riley McGahan had the first attempt, putting the ball in the bottom right of the corner, which was saved by goalkeeper Maggie Storti. Sophomore Grace Ehlert put a shot on-frame in the 20th minute, also saved by Storti.
 
Back-to-back shots from Anna Viscovich and Ella Koleno in the 33rd and 34th were stopped by Storti as well, for the final two chances prior to goal number two.
 
Meryl McKenna had a chance in the 52nd minute and Kate Flynn put a ball on-frame in the 67th minute. Jessica Greven had the final shot on goal of the game in the 77th minute which were all stopped by Storti.
 
Senior goalkeeper Sidney Conner made her lone save of the game in the 85th minute on a Ceci Dapino shot, keeping CWRU off the board.
 
WashU dominated on both ends, recording 16 shots with nine on goal, while the Bears held CWRU to just two shots with one on-frame.
 
The Bears hit the road one final time in the regular-season on Wednesday as they travel to Greenville for a 7 p.m. game. WashU then closes out the regular-season with a two-game homestand against Rochester next Sunday at 11 a.m. and Chicago on Nov. 4 at 11 a.m.
