Hayden Doyle hit the game-winner with less than three seconds left on the clock to give the (RV) Washington University in St. Louis men's basketball team a 63-61 win over Illinois Wesleyan.
WashU is now 9-2 overall as it heads into UAA play this weekend with a game against Chicago on Saturday at 3 p.m.
The Bears held a 12-point lead with six minutes left in the game, but the Titans went on a 10-0 run over the next three minutes to pull with two points. IWU eventually took a one-point, 59-58, lead with 51 seconds remaining and the teams exchanged baskets in the coming seconds.
A jumper from IWU's Ryan Sroka with 14 seconds left tied things up at 61 apiece before Doyle got the jumper off to win the game.

IWU went on a 10-3 run, making it a 10-10 game with 11:46 remaining in the first half and then took a 13-10 edge following a 3-pointer from Cody Mitchell.
After two more ties, the Bears went up 18-3 on a free throw from Davet and a layup from senior
Nate Bloedorn. The game was tied again at 22 apiece with just over four minutes left in the first half and ultimately IWU went into the break with a 26-25 lead.

Jake Wolf and a jumper from Davet, taking a 30-26 lead.
With 14:57 on the clock, Jacob hit a jumper that started a 9-0 run for the Bears to put them up 39-32. Following a quick jumper from IWU, WashU netted another five points including a 3-pointer from Jacob, taking a 12-point, 46-34, edge.
The Bears maintained a double-digit lead for much of the next five minutes until IWU went on its run that led to Doyle's final shot.
Jacob led all scorers with 20 points – 15 in the second half – to go with five rebounds. Grudzinski finished one point shy of a double-double with nine points and 10 rebounds while Bloedorn also netted nine points. Doyle scored eight points to go with six rebounds and five assists.
