Women's Soccer Draws with Chicago in Regular-Season Finale

Chicago, Ill. – The (RV) Washington University in St. Louis women's soccer team played to a 1-1 draw at Chicago on Saturday afternoon to conclude the regular-season.

The Bears finish the regular-season 8-5-6 with a 2-4-1 mark in the UAA.
 
The Bears got on the board first as senior Maggie Brett scored her team-leading 10th goal of the season just 3:55 into play. Brett's initial shot was blocked but her second attempt was good, giving WashU a 1-0 lead.
 
After holding a 1-0 lead for much for much of the game, Chicago evened the score in the 84th minute as Skye Davis scored on a pass from Maggie Jameson.
 
WashU had another scoring chance in the 18th minute, but Ella Koleno's shot was stopped by goalkeeper Sophie Pilarski. Jessica Greven drilled one to goal in the 50th minute which was also saved by Pilarski.
 
Junior goalkeeper recorded two saves on the day, making her first in the 53rd minute on an Allison Embroski shot. She made her second of the day in the 81st minute on a Davis ball.
 
Statistically, the Bears outshot Chicago 9-7 while the teams were even with three shots on goal apiece.
 
WashU now awaits its fate on Monday afternoon for a chance to make it to the NCAA tournament.
