Chicago, Ill. – The No. 15 Washington University in St. Louis women's swimming and diving team finished sixth with 377 points at the D# Shootout hosted by the University of Chicago. Chicago won with 533 points.
In the first race of the day, the 400 medley relay, the team of
Alison Roche,
Riyapreet Sahota,
Mikayla Klein and
Lauren Antonowich took eighth with a time of 3:58.77.
First-year
Anna Fonda won the 500 freestyle, racing to a time of 5:05.36. Roche took fourth in the B final and 12
th overall with a time of 5:12.01.
Klein finished eighth in the 100 butterfly, swimming to a time of 59.75 while Antonowich took sixth in the B final and 14
th overall with a time of 59.53. Chicago's Emily Xu took first with a time of 56.25, hitting an NCAA B cut.
First-year
Rin Iimi took eighth in the 200 breaststroke, racing to a time of 2:25.55. Sahota, a sophomore, took fifth in the B final and 13
th overall with a time of 2:28.56. St. Catherine's Jordyn Wentzel won in 2:15.41, hitting an NCAA B cut.
Senior diver
Rosie Finglass finished fifth on the 3-meter board, racking up 180.60 points. Chicago's Veronica Fong won with a score of 275.80, setting a new meet record and hitting an NCAA B cut.
In the mixed 400 freestyle, WashU's team of Fonda, Iimi, Mason Kelber and Danny Sibley finished third with a time of 3:19.33.
Roche led the way for the Bears in the 200 backstroke, taking third with a time of 2:05.07. Sophomore
Alice Han took second in the B final and 10
th overall in 2:06.22. Hope's Sara Kraus won with an NCAA B cut time of 2:01.51.
Antonowich was the top Bears' finisher in the 100 freestyle, taking seventh with a time of 53.60. Senior
Noelle DiClemente finished 15
th overall with a time of 54.96. Chicago's Xu won with a time of 51.18, hitting an NCAA B cut.
Iimi finished fifth in the 200 IM, racing to a time of 2:09.76 while Han took fourth in the B final and 12
th overall with a time of 2:12.22. St. Catherine's Wentzel won in 2:03.37, hitting an NCAA B cut.
The Bears closed out the day with a fifth-place finish in the 200 freestyle relay. The team of DiClemente, Sahota, Klein and Fonda swam to a time of 1:38.92.
WashU is back in action at home on Friday, November 18 with a 5 p.m. meet against Rose-Hulman.
