No. 15 Women's Swimming and Diving in 6th Following Day One of D3 Shootout

Chicago, Ill.  – The No. 15 Washington University in St. Louis women's swimming and diving team is in sixth place with 187 points after the first day of the D3 Shootout hosted by the University of Chicago.
 
In the first race of the day 200 medley relay, the team of Alison Roche, Riyapreet Sahota, Mikayla Klein and Noelle DiClemente finished in eighth with a time of 1:48.46. Pomona-Pitzer's team won in 1:43.19, setting a new meet record and hitting an NCAA B cut.
 
First-year Rin Iimi finished seventh in the 400 IM, racing to a time of 4:37.77. Trinity's Neely Burns won the field in 4:23.46, setting a new meet record and hitting an NCAA B cut. Sophomore Alice Han finished third in the B final and 10th overall with a time of 4:39.35.
 
First-year Anna Fonda took fifth in the 200 freestyle, swimming to a time of 1:54.11. Chicago's Karen Zhao won the field in 1:50.42, setting a new meeting record and hitting an NCAA B cut. Roche took third in the B final and 10th overall with a time of 1:55.05.
 
DiClemente led the way for the Bears in the 50 freestyle, taking seventh with a time of 24.59. Chicago's Annabel Olivo won with a time of 23.57. Sophomore Lauren Antonowich finished fifth in the B final and 12th overall with a time of 24.85.
 
Senior diver Rosie Finglass finished four on the 1-meter, racking up 200.05 points.
 
In the mixed 400 medley relay, the Bears team of Han, Fonda, Kai Taft and Mason Kelber took fourth with a time of 3:48.98. Chicago's team won in 3:40.98.
 
Klein, a senior, finished eighth in the 200 butterfly, racing to a time of 2:11.59. Chicago's Emily Xu won in 2:05.86. Antonowich finished fifth in the B final and 12th overall with a time of 2:12.09.
 
Roche led the way for the Bears in the 100 backstroke, taking third in 58.41. Hope's Sara Kraus won in 55.69, setting a new meet record and hitting and NCAA B cut. Han finished fourth in the B final and 11th overall, swimming to a time of 59.11.
 
Sahota was the top WashU finisher in the 100 breaststroke, taking sixth with a time of 1:05.72. Pomona-Pitzer's Alexandra Gill won in 1:01.93. Iimi took fifth in the B final and 12th overall with a time of 1:07.19.
 
In the final race of the day, the 800 freestyle relay, WashU's team of Iimi, Fonda, Antonowich and Sahota finished fifth with a time of 7:47.01.
 
The Bears are back in action tomorrow to wrap up the D3 Shootout, starting at 11 a.m.
