Tyler Durbin began his appointment at WashU as the Manager of Events and Game Operations on September 1, 2022. In May 2025, Durbin was promoted to Manager of Athletic Facilities.
Durbin came to WashU after spending just over a year at the Gateway Region YMCA in O'Fallon, Ill. as a District Sports Manager. In this role, he planned and executed weekly sports practices and oversaw game day operations for multiple sports and locations. Additionally, Durbin was responsible for recruiting and hiring new sport officials as well as establishing and adhering to the yearly budget.
Prior to his time at the YMCA, Durbin served as an event operations graduate assistant at Boise State University from June 2018 to May 2020. There, he planned and executed athletic events for women's soccer, men's tennis, track and field and swimming and diving and was the scheduling coordinator for varsity athletic programs and interdepartmental events. Durbin served as the liaison for special events and athletic rentals held in the athletic department complexes and scheduled external event requests for department venues.
As an undergraduate, Durbin held an internship with the Greater Lansing Sports Authority, where he assisted with website and social media content, worked with on-site events and managed venues, and supported staff.
Durbin has worked the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl twice in 2018 and 2019 in field level operations. He has also worked in field level operations for the 2019 Mountain West Football Championship and served as the tournament manager for the 2019 Mountain West Women's Soccer Tournament.
He holds a bachelor's degree in General Management from Michigan State and earned a Master of Athletic Leadership from Boise State in 2020.
Durbin resides in University City with his fiancé, Cassidy, and cat, Rai.
