DeeDee Effinger was hired as the Manager of Aquatics and Recreation Operations in June 2022.
Prior to her time at WashU, she served as a graduate assistant of aquatics at the University of Illinois ion Urbana-Champaign from August 2020 to June 2022. During her second year of graduate school, she served as the Illinoise State Student Leader for IIRSA.Â
During her time as an undergraduate at UMSL, Effinger served as a swim instructor and life guard, and progressed to head lifeguard and building manager as well as serving on the recreation center's student leadership team that planned and executed staff trainings.
Effinger holds a bachelors degree in business administration and management from UMSL and a masters degree in recreation, sports and tourism from the University of Illinois.
Outside of work, DeeDee enjoys Blues Hockey and spending time with her dog.
