Ali Casco was named the Student-Athlete Development and Experience Coordinator on August 4, 2023.
Casco served as the interim Student-Athlete Development and Experience Coordinator as well as a practicum student in the Student-Athlete Development office while completing her master's degree in social work with a concentration in mental health. Casco graduated with her master's degree from WashU's Brown School in May 2023.
In her time at WashU, Casco worked to develop and implement three levels of mental health programming for WashU's Scholar-Champions. She co-created and co-facilitated a class for first-year student-athletes that ran for the first time in the fall of 2022. Casco directed the inaugural mental health and leadership programming at the department level.
A few impactful enrichment services' programming during Casco's tenure include: Finance, Nutrition and Career Workshops; STEM Alumni Industry Panel; Student-Athlete Affinity Groups Panel Discussions; Community Engagement; Train the Trainer Education Seminars; and How to Market Yourself as a Student-Athlete.
Additionally, Casco is a co-founder and managing partner for CASCO Education where she works to spearhead community engagement opportunities for the students and families. She worked to grow the school from concept to functioning academic institutions.
Casco received her bachelor's degree in history with a concentration in American history from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. There, she was a four-year member of the women's rowing team.
