St. Louis, Mo., Nov. 14, 2019 – Washington University in St. Louis senior Leila King was named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Central All-Region Team, the association announced on Thursday.
The middle blocker from Atlanta, Ga., tallied 294 kills with 79 errors in 582 swings to post a .369 hitting percentage for the Bears this season. With a 2.75 kills-per-set average that ranks eighth in the UAA, she also posted the UAA's third-best blocks-per-set average at 1.04 with 111 total blocks (22 solo, 89 block assists).
She collected 2019 All-UAA First Team honors on Nov. 13 and was named All-UAA Second Team in 2017 and 2018.
The No. 24 Bears take a 24-8 record into their NCAA First Round match up against No. 5 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Friday, Nov. 15 at 12:30 p.m. at the Rather Athletics Center in Chicago, Ill.
