St. Louis, Mo., Nov. 7, 2019 — Washington University in St. Louis junior back Katy Mockett and junior midfielder Kristen Reikersdorfer were named to the 2019 NCAA Division III Academic All-District Five Women's Soccer Team, as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Mockett, who earned the honor for the second-straight year, has started all 17 games played on the back line this season. She has been part of the defense that has recorded 10 shutouts and allowed seven goals in 17 games played. As a team, WashU ranks 14th in NCAA Division III in goals against average (0.419) and 36th in shutout percentage (0.588).
A 2018 CoSIDA Third-Team Academic All-America and two-time Academic All-University Athletic Association (UAA) selection, Mockett has a 3.98 grade point average while majoring in systems engineering.
Reikersdorfer has started 16 of 17 games in the midfield and is fifth on the team in scoring with three goals and three assists for nine points. She scored the game-winning goal in a 2-0 win vs. Fontbonne (Sept. 20), and had two assists in the 3-0 win at Calvin (Aug. 30).
A two-time Academic all-UAA selection, Reikersdorfer has a 4.0 GPA while majoring in neuroscience.
To be eligible for nomination to the Academic All-District Team, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore in academic standing with at least a 3.30 cumulative GPA, and must be a starter or an important reserve.
Mockett and Reikersdorfer are eligible to be selected to the Academic All-America Team, announced Dec. 3.
