Kevin Van Cleave joins the Washington University in St. Louis swimming and diving coaching staff after a prolific career on the Danforth Campus. The Elm Grove, Wis., native was the 2019 NCAA Division III 400-yard medley relay National Champion (3:14.17), a 10-time All-American (200 IM (2017, 2018, 2019), 200-medley relay (2016, 2018, 2019), 400-medley relay (2018, 2019), 400-free relay (2018) and 800-free relay (2019)) as well as a Seven-time All-American Honorable Mention (200 backstroke (2017), 100 breaststroke (2019), 200 breaststroke (2018, 2019), 400-free relay (2019), 800-free relay (2017, 2018)).

Van Cleave was named the 2018-19 University Athletic Association Swimmer of the Year, after he collected the Association titles in the 100-yard breaststroke, 200-yard breaststroke, and 200-yard individual medley relay. He also won the 200-yard individual medley in 2018 and both of the the 200-yard medley relay and the 400-yard medley relay in 2016 at the UAA Championships.
