Joe Clarke Coaching Beyond Sports Tour in Spain

St. Louis, Mo., June 18, 2019 – Washington University in St. Louis men's soccer head coach Joe Clarke is coaching a group of 12 college soccer players on a cultural immersion and community service learning program with Beyond Sports in Spain.

The 12 players represent 12 colleges and universities from around the country and the tour began in Barcelona for three nights, Valencia for four and Madrid for two.

Tim Whittle, a 1996 WashU alum and two-time national champion assistant men's basketball coach, is Head of Coach Outreach with Beyond Sports and is leading the tour of men's soccer and basketball for 10 days.

Clarke, the winningest coach in school history, has a 241-117-50 (.650) overall record in 22 years on the Danforth Campus. He enters the 2019 season as the 24th winningest coach all-time in college men's soccer history with a 446-191-80 (.678) record in 36 seasons.
