Richard is both an assistant throws coach (two years) and an adjunct professor at Washington University (nine years).

Richard has been coaching at a high school and university level for nine years. In addition, he is an accomplished throws competitor in the U.S. Masters Track and Field program.

At Washington University, Richard coaches all five implements (javelin, weight throw, discus, hammer and shot).

His high school coaching experience in Saint Louis includes discus, shot and javelin. He has coached several state championship athletes as well as individuals who have gone on to throw in college.

Richard has been participating in the throws since high school/college. For the past 23 years, Richard has been competing in the Masters Track and Field Program. He has competed successfully at both the National and World Championships Throws events numerous times.

Richard has a BA, MBA (University of Pittsburgh) and an MLA from Washington University

He resides in the Central West End, spending time with his children, his WashU pursuits and various other interests.

Richard’s work world experience includes having over 35 years of senior management and leadership experience working in strategic planning, marketing, sales, supply chain and R&D in numerous global industries.
