Chris Schultheiss was announced as the Head Athletic Trainer on September 30, 2020.
Schultheiss previously served as the Associate Director of Sports Medicine at West Virginia University where he has worked for the six years with the football team.
Prior to WVU, Schultheiss was the Assistant Athletic Trainer at three Division I Universities, including Rutgers University (2011-14), University of Vermont (2010-11) and American University (2006-10).
After finishing his graduate degree in 2000, Schultheiss served as the Head Athletic Trainer at Elizabeth City State University for two years followed by a four-year stint at Catholic University of America until 2006.
Schultheiss has provided athletic training services to men and women’s basketball, cross country, football, men’s soccer, women’s volleyball, men and women’s swimming, track & field, and wrestling.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in health sciences from James Madison University in 1998 and his Master’s of Education in athletic training in 2000 from Temple University.
