COOKING CLASSES

WashU Kitchen Academy is an exciting culinary adventure that takes you on a delicious journey through the most iconic food cuisines! In this hands-on cooking class series, students will dive deep into the flavors of the most popular food cuisines, mastering three signature dishes that define each destination's unique culinary identity.

Each immersive session goes beyond just cooking – participants will develop essential kitchen skills, including comprehensive food safety protocols and expert knife techniques that are fundamental to professional and home cooking. Whether you're a budding chef or a passionate home cook, WashU Kitchen Academy offers an interactive learning experience that combines cultural exploration, technical skills, and mouthwatering cuisine.

From street food favorites to restaurant classics, students will learn to recreate authentic dishes while gaining confidence in the kitchen. The series promises not just recipes, but a complete culinary education that will transform the way you think about cooking. Get ready to chop, sauté, and savor your way through the world's most exciting food destinations!

INDIAN CUISINE

ITALIAN CUISINE

Cost: Free for WashU students
Registration: Opens October 27 @ 8:00 AM

  • How to make fresh pasta dough from scratch
  • Shaping and cutting techniques for different pasta styles
  • The fundamentals of Italian flavor profiles and ingredients
  • Tips for recreating authentic Italian dishes at home


Registration opens two weeks in advance on our recstore. Students are only allowed to take one cooking class per semester. All of these events are free and open to WashU students. Any no-show students will be charged a $25 fee.
