Powerlifting Club website

The Wash-U Powerlifting Club is a fitness-based club centered on powerlifting. The club creates a supportive fitness community where students can learn more about powerlifting, get stronger, and compete in the sport of powerlifting.

Members are accepted during open tryouts at the beginning of the fall semester. We normally do not accept athletes in the middle of semester. This team is a Co-ed club. Any level of experience is welcome to tryout. It should be noted that you don't necessarily have to be the strongest person in the room. Your attitude and dedication is worth twice as much!

The team has practice off campus 3 times a week: Tuesday and Thursday 7-9pm, and Saturday 1-3pm. We coordinate transportation each week to ensure all members can attend even if they do not have reliable transportation.

We help our members grow in powerlifting by providing optional training programs, experienced coaches, and educational resources about powerlifting. In and out of the gym, we work together as a team to maintain accountability and a positive environment.

The team competes at least once a semester at local and nation-wide competitions. In the past, this club has sent numerous student-athletes to the Collegiate National Championships. If you want to get strong and join our team, we encourage you to try out. Feel free to follow our progress on our Instagram page (@wupowerlifting) and don't hesitate to message us if you have any more questions! :)
